I had the 2002 Subaru Impreza paid off for a while and decided that I wanted something different. I also knew that I didn’t want to go new this time around. People lose way too much money going that route, it’s especially bad if you have to take out car payments. Now you’re paying interest for a loan on something that’s losing value . . . Always look for a way to minimize your financial losses on things like this.

I did my research and settled on a Certified Pre-Owned (giving me the benefit of a warranty without the new car price) 2001 or 2002 Honda Accord EX Coupe (with the 4 cylinder engine and cloth interior) in either Blue, Black or Red (in that order of preference) I figured that a Honda Accord would be the easiest used car to get that specific over. They’re everywhere! Not only that but Accords hold their value, require pretty minimal scheduled maintenance and are easy to sell when the time comes.

I went to Castle Honda and this one was sitting on the lot with the exact color and options I wanted. Talked to a sales person and got them to sell me the vehicle for about $3,000 less than blue book value. I drove it home in July of 2005 and I sold the Subaru outright afterwards.

The pictures I have of it are not very good. They were quick pictures I took with my cell phone camera just to have something and I was lazy for the rest of the summer and didn’t bother taking any pictures. When the weather is nicer and I can wash and wax the thing I’ll take good pictures with a real camera.
